History

Bufords Body shop was founded in Bartlesville by my grandfather George Buford in 1959. His primary focus was repairing collision damaged vehicles, and other interests were building custom cars. The shop stayed open until his death at which time none of his sons had interest in keeping the doors open.Chevy II built by Buford's Body Shop
My father had grown up in the business and learned the skills required to do custom body and paint work. Dad always had some type of car project in the shop at home, these ranged from screaming small block Novas to big block Chevelles with the shoe box style Chevys holding a special place in his heart. I was born in 1970 and grew up in the shop working on cars. By 1984 I could do my own body work and was learning to spray paint. As I grew older working on cars became my passion and during high school I decided to make a career as a paint and body technician. I started by attending Vo-Tech in Bartlesville and followed that up with a degree in collision repair at OSU Okmulgee. After graduating in 1991 I went to work in a collision shop and simultaneously started HogShooter Hotrods where in my spare time I worked on a variety of cars. By 1996 I had moved out of the shop and into the office of one of Bartlesvilles largest Collision repair facilities I remained there until 2001 when I decided to change focus and became an instructor at Tulsa Technology Center where I work today. This move has given me the chance to spend larger blocks of time in the HogShooter shop building customer cars. The torch has been passed from grandfather to my father and now I carry the flame. I have the patience and desire coupled with years in the industry to make the correct choices while working on your investment.
